We are constantly working to improve your Notarize experience. Here are some highlights of what’s changing.

Release notes and dates are subject to change.

These enhancements were deployed to our Fairfax environment on Thursday, March 2, 2023, and our production environment on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

Enhancements

Notary ringtones

We added the ability for notaries to add their own ringtones! Notaries can access the ability to upload a new ringtone on their A/V Settings page. (NX-2211)

Who does this impact?

  • Availability: All Notaries
  • Transaction Types: N/A

Payment Checker removed

We removed the payment checker from the Closing Agenda. We don’t want to block notaries from accessing the Meetings page just because they need to add a payment method. (REAL-8262)

Who does this impact?

  • Impacts: Notaries: Notaries Sourcing Transactions (NST) & On-Demand Notaries (ODN)
  • Transaction Types: N/A

"Account locked" emails enhanced

Updating emails. We're moving some of our older emails to use the newer Liquid Mailer templates. These may also contain some accessibility improvements. (REAL-8215)

Who does this impact?

  • Availability: Recipients of "Account Locked" emails
  • Transaction Types: N/A

Additional parties modal enhanced for signers

We adjusted the copy on the retail Additional parties modal to make it less confusing. After retail signers upload their documents, they'll be shown a modal that asks if they need to add a second signer or witness. If they select that they need to add a second signer, they’ll be shown the modal to provide the second signer’s name and email address. Notaries will continue adding witnesses during the meeting.(SE-3430)

Who does this impact?

  • Availability: Retail signers
  • Transaction Types: All retail transactions

A/V Settings help for signers

In an attempt to help signers who lose their A/V settings during the meeting, we added a modal that’ll show if we detect that we lost the signer’s connection to audio or video. Through the modal, signers can access the A/V settings during the meeting to reconnect their camera and microphone. They also have the option to refresh their screen; this option re-prompts permissions from the browser to have access to the signer’s camera and microphone. (SE-3407)

Who does this impact?

  • Availability: Signers using Notarize via a web browser
  • Transaction Types: All transactions that require a meeting with a notary

Fixed!

Credible Identifying Witness removed for New York transactions

We removed the credible witness option for New York notaries to align with recent changes in RON law in New York state. (NX-2262)

Who does this impact?

  • Impacts: All New York In-House Notaries (IHNs)
  • Transaction Types: Transactions that would have otherwise used a credible identifying witness

Non-US address filter

We filtered out non-US address results from the transaction location search since we can only service US addresses. (REAL-7689)

Who does this impact?

  • Availability: Real Estate portals
  • Transaction Types: Real Estate transactions
