Optional fields are for information that may be useful for the signer to provide when completing their documents, but they are not required to be completed.
Who can use this
Any user in your organization with an owner, admin, team member, and sender role can perform the action below.
What to expect
Optional fields:
- Show "(Optional)" next to the field name to indicate they're not required.
- Are not required to complete the transaction.
- May be used in documents and document templates.
Notary fields cannot be marked as optional.
Set a signer field as optional
In the Prepare documents window:
- Add the field you'd like to mark as optional.
- Select the field after you place it on the document.
- Set the field as optional by doing one of the following:
- Click the Set as optional button that appears directly above the field.
OR - Toggle the Field is required switch to the OFF position in the toolbar on the right.
- Click the Set as optional button that appears directly above the field.
