Overview
Learn to create and send Proof transactions through the user interface (UI) in the lender portal. Proof transactions are secure, identity-verified eSignatures for documents that don't require notarization.
🎯Primary Audience: Mortgage Lenders
When Proof is selected, signers must pass a higher level of scrutiny to prove their identity. The Proof flow requires signers to undergo a combination of verification methods you select (see Step 6 below). You select the verification method for your signer when you create the transaction:
- You can select different methods for every transaction.
- You must select at least one verification method.
- You can select all three.
Create a Proof Transaction
Log in to your Proof account to complete the steps below.
- Click Send & manage from the navigation panel on the left:
- If you don't see the panel, click the caret to expand it.

- Click
- Select Proof from the dropdown.

Provide the signer's information:
- Required: First and last name, email address, and phone number.
- Optional: Click +Add signer address to include an address for the signer.
- Check the box next to This is a representative signer if the signer is signing on behalf of another person or entity.
- Check at least one box to add identity verification methods with Proof:

IAL2-compliant identity verification:
- Credential Analysis of a Primary ID, plus a liveness check against the ID provided.
- SMS (text message) is required when IAL2-compliant is selected. The box is automatically checked, and it becomes greyed out (unless you uncheck IAL2-compliant).

SMS (text message) Multi-factor authentication (MFA):
- Required if IAL2-compliant is selected.

Knowledge-based Authentication (KBA).

IAL2-compliant identity verification:
- Does this transaction require additional signers?

Add an additional signer, if applicable, by selecting the Yes radio dial. Complete steps 5 and 6 for the second signer. Click +Add additional signer to add a 3rd signer, and repeat as needed.

Set a signing schedule, if desired.
- Upload the documents and set requirements.
- Add a customized message to be emailed to your signer. Optional, but encouraged!
- Click or, to save and return later, click
Proof Signer Experience
After you click , the signer receives a link via email and text message to begin the signing process.
