Proof Transactions in the Title Portal

Overview

Learn to create and send Proof transactions through the user interface (UI) in the title portal. Proof transactions are secure, identity-verified eSignatures for documents that don't require notarization.

🎯Primary Audience: Title Agents

When Proof is selected, signers must pass a higher level of scrutiny to prove their identity. The Proof flow requires signers to undergo a combination of verification methods you select (see Step 6 below). You select the verification method for your signer when you create the transaction:

• You can select different methods for every transaction.
• You must select at least one verification method.
• You can select all three.

Create a Proof Transaction

Closing Concierge customers will experience this transaction flow and may see a Place order button (see this article for details) instead of Send transaction.

Log in to your Proof account to complete the steps below.

1. Click Send & manage from the navigation panel on the left:
   • If you don't see the panel, click the caret to expand it.
     
     
2. Click Send new transaction.
   
   
3. Select Proof from the dropdown.
   
   
4. Provide the transaction information, if desired.
5. Provide the signer's information:
   • Required: First and last name, email address, and phone number.
   • Optional: Click +Add signer address to include an address for the signer.
   • Check the box next to This is a representative signer if the signer is signing on behalf of another person or entity.
     
     
6. Click the toggle to the ON position for identity verification and check at least one box to add identity verification methods with Proof:
   • IAL2-compliant identity verification:
     • Credential Analysis of a Primary ID, plus a liveness check against the ID provided.
     • SMS (text message) is required when IAL2-compliant is selected. The box is automatically checked, and it becomes greyed out (unless you uncheck IAL2-compliant).
   • SMS (text message) Multi-factor authentication (MFA):
     • Required if IAL2-compliant is selected.
   • Knowledge-based Authentication (KBA).
     
     
7. Click Add recipient or Add contact to add additional recipients or contacts to the transaction. 
   
   
8. Upload the documents and set requirements.
   
   
9. Set a signing schedule, if desired.
10. Add a customized message to be emailed to your signer. Optional, but encouraged!
    
    
11. Click Send transaction or, to save and return later, click Save & exit

Proof Signer Experience

After you click Send transaction, the signer receives a link via email and text message to begin the signing process.
