Signing Groups
What is this?
The Signing Group feature allows the transaction creator to specify a group email address as a signer rather than an individual. Anyone with access to the group email address can sign the document.
Use case example
A mortgage lender creates a transaction that requires a signature from the borrower, followed by a signature from a construction company. Anyone from the construction company is authorized to sign, but they don't know in advance who will be available after the borrower signs.
By creating the transaction to go to a Signing Group, the mortgage lender ensures that the deal moves forward without unnecessary delays since the first person to see the email can sign on behalf of the construction company.
Limitations
- For the initial launch, Signing Groups is limited to transactions created in the API
- User Interface (UI) release date TBD (to be determined)
- Signing Groups is being released in March 2024 as an MVP (iterative enhancements to follow)
Who does this impact?
- Audience: Business and Real Estate API customers and recipients of their transactions
- Transaction Types: Current drafts and new transactions created in the API
How does this work?
- API: Coming soon! All API documentation can be found at https://dev.proof.com/
- UI: Signing Groups | API
- Links to new resources will be added to this article as they become available (after the feature is generally available in the UI).
Merge Documents
What is this?
Merge Documents is a new document preparation tool that can be used during Transaction Creation and Document Template Prep. This new tool allows users to merge documents on draft transactions and document templates.
Who does this impact?
- Audience: Real Estate and Business customers, and Notary producers (NST)
- Transaction Types: Current and future draft transactions + Current and future document templates
How does this work?
Mobile app sunsetted for real estate signers
What is this?
Now that all signer experiences have been optimized for mobile web use, the mobile app is no longer supported for *Real Estate transactions. If a signer tries to access a transaction that is not supported on the mobile app, they'll be notified and redirected to use the mobile web.
*Real Estate transactions: A mortgage-related transaction initiated by a Title Agent or Mortgage Lender.
Who does this impact?
- Audience: Signers using a mobile device to complete real estate transactions
- Transaction Types: Previously sent and future Real Estate transactions initiated by Mortgage Lenders and/or Title Agents
