Transaction-based Closing Concierge (BIZ-6052)
For: Title Agents contracted with Proof to use Closing Concierge (aka "Place an Order")

- Skip the checkbox to prepare and expedite the transaction directly to your signer(s).
Who does this impact?
- Audience: Title Agents must opt-in to use this feature. Please contact Proof to have Transaction-based Closing Concierge enabled.
-
Transaction Types: Current and future transactions for customers that opt-in.
(Only available in the new transaction flow.)
Alternative to Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) - signers unable to complete KBA (SE-5888, SE-6142)
For: Business customers that utilize the Notarize Network
We’re releasing an alternative to Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) questions as an identity verification method for business customers that use the Notarize Network to access On-Demand Notaries (ODNs). If your signers cannot complete KBA because KBA questions cannot be generated or they failed to pass the quiz, they can undergo a different flow of Biometrics + Credential Analysis to verify their identity. This step will require signers to take a picture of the front and back of their ID, and do a selfie, liveness check. Upon passing the Biometric + Credential Analysis step, signers will be routed to an In House Notary from one of the 8 states that permit notaries to identify signers using biometrics (FL, PA, AR, NJ, NY, ND, WV, WI). If utilizing the On-Demand Notary Network, signers will be routed to an On-Demand Notary in FL or PA.
If there are multiple signers on a single transaction, all signers must be co-located on the same device for any of the signers on the transaction to be able to go through the Biometric + Credential Analysis.
Who does this impact?
- Audience: Default change for all transactions where signers can’t complete KBA
- Transaction Types: Current and future incomplete transactions initiated by Business customers using Notarize Network
Alternative to Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) - signers without an SSN or ITIN (SE-5887)
For: Business customers that utilize the Notarize Network
We are releasing an alternative to Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) questions for identity verification. For Business organizations that utilize the On-Demand Notary Network, if your signers aren’t able to go through KBA and they do not have a United States Social Security Number, they will be able to go through a different step of Biometric + Credential Analysis to verify their identity. Signers will be required to enter a US address.
This step will require signers to take a picture of the front and back of their ID, and do a selfie liveliness check. Upon passing the Biometric + Credential Analysis step, signers will be routed to an In House Notary from one of the 8 states that accept biometrics (FL, PA, AR, NJ, NY, ND, WV, WI). If utilizing the On-Demand Notary Network, signers will be routed to an On-Demand Notary in FL or PA.
If there are multiple signers on a single transaction, all signers must be co-located on the same device for any of the signers on the transaction to be able to go through the Biometric + Credential Analysis step.
Who does this impact?
- Audience: This is an opt-in feature. Please reach out to your Customer Success Architect or contact Sales to enable this feature
- Transaction Types: Current and future incomplete transactions initiated by Business customers using Notarize Network
Set default signature type (SE-4438)
For: Business, Title, and Lender customers
We added an organization setting so customers can now decide whether they want their signers to sign with a text-based signature or a handwritten signature. This setting is located in your portal under Settings → Transaction signatures → Signer settings → Signer signatures
Who does this impact?
- Audience: Default remains that signers can choose a text-based or handwritten signature. Customers can choose to change this setting if you want to restrict signers to only use one of the two.
- Transaction Types: All incomplete transactions
