Signer Order choices during transaction creation (BIZ-4596)
The new transaction creation form for Premium and Enterprise tiers now allows you to set either a Sequential Signing Order or a Parallel Signing Order. (Enforcing a signing order is optional.)
Who does this impact?
- Audience: Business and Title Agency customers on Premium or Enterprise tiers and their customers/signers
- Enablement: Available by default to all
- Transaction Types: Drafts and future transactions
All notaries can prompt signers to upload supplemental documents during a meeting (e.g.,(NX-4410)
Notary Business Users conducting Notary-Sourced Transactions (NSTs) can now prompt the signer to upload documents during meetings! Supplemental Document Upload was already available for In-House Notaries (IHNs) and On-Demand Notaries (ODNs), but now all notaries can benefit from this feature.
Who does this impact?
- Audience: All Notary-Sourced Transactions
- Transaction Types: Future transactions only
Notary phone number clarification NNA vs personal use {MFA/SMS} (BIZ-6161)
As we continue to improve the notary onboarding experience, we clarified the difference between a notary’s personal phone number (used for MFA and SMS notifications) and their NNA commission phone number. These can be the same, but don’t need to be. We’ve added logic and usability to ensure our best communication with notaries.
Who does this impact?
- Audience: All onboarding notaries
- Transaction Types: Future notaries only
Credential Analysis + Biometrics available for Real Estate when KBA fails (SE-6291)
We added a fallback to a new Multi-Step Verification process. If your signer can’t complete Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) because:
- They can’t generate KBA questions
-or- - They failed to pass the quiz
- -AND- we can verify that their identity exists through identity verification database checks
Then, they can proceed with the new Multi-Step Verification process, which pairs Credential Analysis with Biometrics to verify their identity through identity verification database checks.
How does this work?
This step requires signers to take a picture of the front and back of their ID for Credential Analysis and to perform a selfie liveliness check.
- Upon passing the Biometric + Credential Analysis step, signers will be routed to an In-House Notary from one of the eight (8) states that permit notaries to identify signers using biometrics (FL, PA, AR, NJ, NY, ND, WV, WI):
- If utilizing the On-Demand Notary (ODN) Notarize Network, signers will be routed to an ODN in FL or PA.
- Underwriters are providing approval on an individual basis for the Biometric + Credential Analysis flow:
- If the transaction you’re sending has an Underwriter configured, we’ll check if the Underwriter has approved this flow before allowing the signer to proceed to the Biometric fallback step.
Who does this impact?
- Audience: Title and Lender customers that utilize the On-Demand Notary (ODN) Notarize Network
- Enablement: This is an opt-in change for all transactions where signers can’t complete KBA if no Underwriter is configured or if an Underwriter is configured and has approved this new flow. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or chat with our Sales team to enable this feature.
- Transaction Types: All incomplete transactions.
Credential Analysis + Biometrics available for Real Estate when the signer has no SSN (SE-6291)
We added a fallback to a new Multi-Step Verification process. If your signer can’t go through Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) because:
- They do not have a United States Social Security Number (SSN)
- -AND- we can verify that their identity exists through identity verification database checks
- -AND- they have a valid US address to provide in the Proof platform
Then, they can proceed with the new Multi-Step Verification process, which pairs Credential Analysis with Biometrics to verify their identity through identity verification database checks.
