Organizations sending transactions can lock the recipient's name for all outgoing transactions. Preventing name changes on the recipient's side ensures greater security: Only the intended recipient can complete the transaction.

Any user in your organization with an owner or admin role and notaries sourcing transactions (NSTs) can perform the actions described below.
What to expect
If Lock recipient name is set to:
- Yes = Signers cannot make changes to the their name for knowledge-based authentication or creating a signature.
- No = Signers can make any changes to their name.
Lock recipient name
Log in to your Proof account to complete the steps below.
- Click Settings from the navigation panel on the left.
- If you don't see the panel, click the arrow to expand it.
- Select Transaction Settings from the Settings page menu on the left.
- Select the radio button next to the desired option under Lock recipient name in the Signer permissions box.
- Click Save changes.
