Identify transactions are used when you want to verify someone's identity without requiring them to sign a document. This can be helpful to prevent fraud in many aspects of your operations, such as when someone wants to open a new account, apply for a loan, wire money, and more.
You can also create Identify transactions via the API or with an EasyLink.
Who this is for
Any user in your organization who can create and send transactions can perform the steps below.
What to expect
An Identify transaction can only be sent to one recipient at a time. If you'd like to use this transaction type to verify the identity of more than one person, a separate Identify transaction must be created for each person.
You can use any or all of the following identity verification methods in an Identify transaction:
- Credential analysis + selfie comparison
- IAL2-compliant identity verification — If users fail IAL2 identity verification, they will be routed to an on-demand fraud agent to determine if the identity is genuine.
- Knowledge-based authentication (KBA)
Once the transaction is complete, you’ll have access to a Proof identity report with details of success and potential fraudulent activity.
