During a real estate transaction on the Proof platform, signers can connect to the contacts associated with the transaction. This is helpful if they have any questions or concerns about the closing.
Who this is for
The information and/or process below applies to users who interact with real estate transactions.
How it works
When real estate transactions are created, the senders can add members of their real estate team to the transaction and share the contact information with the signers if they choose. The signer receives the phone number and email address in the email invitation for the closing. The signer can refer to this email if they need to contact the team, or signers can contact the team during the notary meeting.
The signer can call:
- Multiple contacts and have them be in the call at the same time.
- Using a web browser on a computer, not the Notarize app.
During a meeting, notaries will not be able to see information or initiate calls with real estate contacts unless the signer connects with a contact in the meeting.
The signer cannot hang up the call in the following circumstances:
-
- They accidentally call the contact.
- The contact does not answer the phone.
- The call goes to voicemail, and they do not want to leave a voicemail or finish leaving one.
The signer has to wait until the voicemail times out, then the system will automatically hang up.
Call a real estate contact during a notary meeting
Once the signer connects with a notary, the signer can see the contact information at the bottom left of the meeting, under the video feeds. If the signer would like to contact someone:
- Click the phone icon next to that individual to begin the connection process.
- The phone icon changes to a spinning circle, indicating they are calling the person.
- When the individual connects to the session, the phone icon will fill in and turn red.
