Our eSign feature is a quick and efficient way to get documents electronically signed that do not require a notary meeting. Using our eSignature feature can help streamline your eSigning process. eSign is included in Business Pro & Premium.
Who can use this
Any user in your organization who can create and send transactions and notaries sourcing transactions (NSTs) can perform the steps below.
What to expect
eSignature transactions are sent directly to the signer when you click the Send transaction button. These transactions do not have identity verification on by default; if you'd like to verify the signer's identity before they apply their signature, follow the instructions in step 6.
For real estate organizations that utilize Proof's Closing Concierge: Be sure to add fields to eSignature documents before you send; these documents are not sent to Closing Ops.
Send an eSign transaction
Log in to your Proof account to complete the steps below.
- Click Send & manage or My closings from the navigation panel on the left:
- If you don't see the panel, click the caret to expand it.
- Click Send new transaction in the upper right corner.
- Select eSign from the dropdown menu.
- Provide optional information as desired:
- Type the transaction details.
- Add CC contacts to notify colleagues and share documents when the transaction is complete.
- Provide the signer's information.
- If the transaction has more than one signer, click Add recipient, select the desired option, and add their information. Repeat as needed.
- If the transaction has more than one signer, click Add recipient, select the desired option, and add their information. Repeat as needed.
- (Optional) Click the switch next to Add identity verification and select your preferred method to verify the signer's identity before they sign.
- (Optional, available for real estate organizations only) Click Add contact to add Closing contacts.
- Upload and prepare your document.
- (Optional) Set a signing window if you'd like the signers to complete the transaction within a certain date range.
- (Optional) Type a message to the signer in the provided box.
- Click Send transaction.
Once all parties have electronically signed, you and CC contacts receive an email notification to download the document.
