Who can set this up
Only account admins and owners can perform the actions described below.
What you need
Before you begin, you need to generate a full-access API key in your Proof account.
For multiple users
- You can utilize the same API key to send transactions or orders from SoftPro to Proof since API keys are mapped to one specific Proof account.
- Any user who is utilizing the integration for the first time will need to input this API key.
If your security protocols require individual API keys, an admin can generate the appropriate number of keys from the API Key menu and securely distribute these to your users.
For child organizations: You will need to use the child API key to send transactions to that account from SoftPro. We currently do not support routing transactions to child accounts via the parent account.
What to expect
The documents are automatically returned to SoftPro upon completion of the transaction.
If you use in-house notaries
If you would like to assign the transaction to one of your in-house notaries (IHNs), you can do so within the Proof platform. Choose Review document package on Notarize's website prior to submitting for signing on the submission options section in SoftPro. Within the transaction in Proof, you can select an internal company notary.
When the signer attempts to connect with a notary, their meeting request will show up for all internal company notaries available at the time. Any available notary can accept the meeting and Proof documents. In this scenario, we also recommend enabling overflow.
Connect SoftPro to Proof
- Open the Proof integration window in SoftPro by navigating to 360 > Services.
- Double click Proof - Verify Identity | Notarize Online | eSign.
- Click Next.
- Click Login.
- Paste your API key.
- Check the box next to Remember Me.
- Click OK.
Document tagging options
You can tag your documents in 2 ways.
Option 1: Using white text tagging, which can be utilized in one of two ways:
- Recommended: Connect with the SoftPro Documents team to set up your templates in SoftPro with the Proof white text tagging syntax, which is an additional charge from SoftPro.
- Add white text tagging to your documents on your own. Read about Proof White Text Tagging.
Option 2: Manually tag documents for each transaction:
- Select the radio button for Review document package on Notarize's website before submitting for signing under Submission Options in SoftPro when you set up your document Proof.
Test your SoftPro-Proof Integration
To make sure the connection is working, do the following:
- Create an order in SoftPro using your employee as the signer.
- Select transaction type eSign. (Please ensure there are no notary tags on your test document. If there are notary tags on your test document, it will cause an error.)
- Submit the order as usual.
- Verify that the transaction is created in the Notarize with Proof web portal.
- Verify that your employee can sign the documents.
- Verify that you can retrieve documents in SoftPro after the employee has signed.
