Online chat refers to any communication over the internet that offers a real-time transmission of text messages from sender to receiver.
In-Meeting Chat at Notarize allows meeting participants to type messages to each other so they can communicate non-verbally.
In-Meeting Chat Uses
Accessibility
In-Meeting Chat is used to communicate with signers with hearing or speech impairments. The chat feature allows communication between the notary and the signer, ensuring that people with a hearing or speech impairment can complete transactions on Notarize.
Resolve technical audio issues
In-Meeting Chat can help with troubleshooting audio problems. With In-Meeting Chat, the notary and the signer can communicate with each other and resolve issues instead of writing instructions on Post-it notes or the document.
How it Works
When the notary or the signer initiates a chat by sending a message, the other gets a chat message notification. Chat can occur between meeting participants, most commonly notaries and signers, but can be witnesses, title agents, and anyone with a video feed within the meeting.
