This article contains common errors you might encounter when sending orders, signings, and/or documents to Notarize with Proof from ResWare. Error and success messages will appear in the XML tab on the file in ResWare.
Send Order/Send Signings/Send Documents calls in ResWare
Error message: “Invalid credentials”
Troubleshooting steps: This error indicates that there’s likely something wrong with the URL in the ResWare-to-ResWare Mappings for that call. Reference the Job Aid for what the URL should be, and make sure the URL you have set up in the Mappings matches this. Often if the issue is with the Send Documents or Send Signings call, it’s because you didn’t correctly add the RemotePrimaryContactEmployeeID number as a URL parameter. Ex: If the RemotePrimaryContactEmployeeID is 20, then that section of the URL should read “om=20”.
For the Send Signings call in ResWare
Error message: “It looks like you have a signing party on the Signing 0 that does not match the transaction type. Please refer to the job aid to get help sending Signings.”
Troubleshooting steps: This error is indicating that in the Signings tab, the Signing Type and the Signing Party do not match. The Signing Types map to Transaction Types in Notarize with Proof, and certain Transaction Types are for Buyer transactions and other Transaction Types are for Seller transactions.
For example, this error will arise if you have added a Signing Type like “Purchase” that you have mapped to the “Purchase buyer cash” Transaction Type in Notarize with Proof and you add the Seller as the Signing Party. In Notarize with Proof, the “Purchase buyer cash” Transaction Type is for the Buyer to sign, so we will raise this error.
Resolution: Update the Signing Type in the Signings tab to one that maps to a Transaction Type in Notarize with Proof that is for the Seller. In the above example, this would be a Signing Type that maps to the “Purchase seller” Transaction Type. Please reference the Job Aid for the Signing Type to Transaction Type mapping guide
Error message: “Error Signer Buyer2 TEST (signer) is missing from File...”
Troubleshooting steps: You didn't Send Order after adding the 2nd Seller Card, so in our system we only had the 1st Seller Card. When trying to Send Signing with the two Sellers, it threw the error saying we didn't have the 2nd Seller. You will need to Send Order first, in order to update what we have in our system and send 2nd Seller, then Send Signing.
Error: "Organization missing Notarize user for Escrow Officer with ..."
Troubleshooting steps: It means the File in ResWare contains an Escrow Office contact whose email doesn't match any organization member in Notarize with Proof, thus we can't assign that transaction to a Proof employee. You will have to create a Notarize with Proof organization member who's email matches the Escrow Officer's email they use in ResWare.
Error: "The Signing #0 is not eligible on Notarize for a _______ transaction for that property address and underwriter. Please check your notes to view eligible transaction types and underwriters."
Troubleshooting Steps: This error is returned based on Notarize with Proof's eligibility check for non-hybrid (e-close) transactions. If your Title Agency is set to operate in the state and underwriter for that transaction type, then it most likely is an issue with the County selected.
Common Entity Support - Errors
If there are any issues with the entity signer information, these errors will be returned in the “Send Signings” call in the XML tab on the file. Here is a common error you may see:
Error: "The signing #{signing number} has no signatories for {Entity Buyer/Seller Name}".
Troubleshooting Steps: The entity signatory information is required if there is an entity buyer or seller on the file AND there are documents in the file that need to be signed by that entity. You will see this error if the Custom Fields are not added or filled out for that entity.
Error: "Invalid Buyer/Seller: the {field name} field is missing for {buyer/seller name}".
Troubleshooting Steps: This error will show if any field is filled out for an entity signatory (Entity Buyer Signatory 1 Email, Entity Buyer Signatory 1 First Name, etc.) then the other fields for that signatory will be required (Entity Buyer Signatory 1 Last Name, Title, etc.).
