Export Your Notary Journal

Overview

Notary records include details of the transaction. It can be used if a notarized document is lost or altered or if facts concerning the notarization are challenged in court.

Your account contains your notary journal, which has a ledger of all notarial acts performed during transactions, beginning with the most recent.

📝 Note: Each entry row of your notary journal represents a seal placed per signer; if a transaction required multiple seals or had multiple signers, there may be multiple entries representing that single transaction.

Steps to Export Your Notary Journal

1. Click your initials in the upper right corner of your account.
2. Select View notary journal from the dropdown menu. 
3. Click a link below to view instructions for that method.
   1. Export selected journal entries

      • Select the checkbox next to the entry or entries you'd like to export.
      • Click the Export button from the upper right corner.
      • Choose Selected Journal Entries from the dropdown menu.

      You can use the Date Range and/or Name of Principal filters to find a specific entry if desired.

      ---

   2. Export the entire journal

      • Click the Export button from the upper right corner.
      • Choose All Journal Entries from the dropdown menu.

4. Complete the journal copy request by filling out the required information:

   ℹ️ The information provided below becomes a new entry in your journal for the copy certification of the journal copy.
   • Name of Requesting Party
   • Address (if provided)
   • Date of Request
   • Confirmation that the requestor is entitled to the excerpt
   • Description of the requested journal excerpt(s):
     • Electronic Notary Journal request for [Description of Document] Notarized on [Date of Notarization] for [Signer's Name]
5. Click Continue.
6. Fill out the Copy Certification document with the necessary information, your signature, and seal to certify this is a true, official copy of your notarial record.
   

7. Click Export to save the selected journal entries as a PDF file and a copy of the certificate.

   • If you encounter a pop-up blocker, click the message to the right of the URL to manage the pop-up.
