The short answer: Use cost centers in Command Center to tie Proof transactions to your internal accounting records. Command Center owners and admins can perform the actions below.

After creating a cost center, you can allow users to access it and select a cost center when creating a new transaction. Learn how to manage your cost centers.


Create a cost center

New to Command Center? Here's how to access it.

  1. Select Cost centers from the menu on the left.
  2. Select Create cost center.

  3. Type the display name in the Display name field.
    • This is the name senders see when creating a transaction — typically a branch or office name.
  4. Type the internal ID in the Internal ID field.

    • Use this for your internal records — often an accounting code like a GL string.

  5. Select the toggle for Show this cost center to transaction senders to switch it ON or OFF.
  6. Select Create new cost center.

Summary Checklist

  • Navigate to Cost centers → Create cost center.
  • Enter a Display name (what senders see) and an Internal ID (your accounting code).
  • Set the visibility toggle, then select Create new cost center.
