Every document notarized on the Proof platform is backed by a secure, tamper-evident audit trail. Whether you are a signer sharing your work or a recipient verifying a file, our Verification Portal provides live confirmation of the notarial act, the notaryβs credentials, and the document's integrity.
Steps to Validate a Notarized Document
1. Locate Your Access Credentials +
When a document is completed, you will receive an automated email from noreply@proof.com. To access the secure portal, you will need two pieces of information found in that email:
- Access ID: A unique identifier for the specific transaction.
- Access PIN: A secure code required to unlock the document details.
2. Use the Verification Portal +
The Verification Portal is the official way to confirm the state of the document at the exact moment of notarization. It ensures that the document you hold matches the one processed by the notary.
- Access the Portal: Click "View Document" in your email or visit the Proof Verification Portal directly.
- Enter Details: Copy and paste the Proof ID and Access PIN into the required fields.
- Review the Record: Once inside, you can verify the notary's name, commission number, expiration date, and the specific date/time of the meeting.
3. Review the Evidence and Video +
Proof provides more than just a digital stamp; it provides a comprehensive digital record for maximum security.
- Tamper-Evidence: You can download the original, tamper-sealed PDF to ensure it hasn't been altered since the signing.
- Video Access: Signers have the option to share the recorded video session of the notarization. If shared, you can watch the session to verify the signer's identity and intent.
