The short answer: Title and Lender organizations can vault any document — not just eNotes — using eOriginal or SmartSafe. A Proof team member configures your vault credentials, and once set up, you can mark individual documents to vault when creating a transaction.
How It Works
Proof integrates with eOriginal and SmartSafe to eVault documents for Title and Lender organizations. Proof does not maintain its own vault — you must have an active vault account with one of these providers before connecting the integration. Work directly with your vault provider to set up and maintain your vault.
Once your vault credentials are on file, you can mark any document to be stored in your vault. Documents are stored in PDF format.
Set Up Your Vault Connection
To get started, you'll need an active vault account with one of the following providers:
- eOriginal
- SmartSafe
Once you have an account, submit a support request with your vault credentials. A Proof team member will configure the connection for your organization — no setup is required on your end beyond providing your credentials.
Vault Documents When Creating a Transaction
Once your vault connection is set up, select the green lock icon under the document requirements section when creating a transaction to mark a document for vaulting.
If you send documents through the Proof API, set the document requirement vaulted = true to mark that document for vaulting.
Complete Your Meeting and Access Your Documents
Complete the meeting as usual on the Proof platform. After the session:
- You have access to watermarked copies of the document(s) in Proof. Proof also retains watermarked copies.
- The original, authoritative signed document(s) are sent to your vault.
View your completed documents directly in your eOriginal or SmartSafe vault.
