The short answer: Here's how to cancel an Adobe Acrobat Sign agreement before the signer completes notarization through Proof. This applies to organizations using the Adobe Acrobat Sign integration with Proof.

Important: Only agreements in an In progress status can be canceled before notarization. Once an agreement progresses beyond this stage, cancellation options may no longer be available in Adobe.
When to cancel an agreement
You may need to cancel an agreement if:
- The transaction was created in error
- The signer information is incorrect
- The documents need to be updated
- The signer should no longer proceed with the notarization
Cancel an agreement
- Log in to your Adobe Acrobat Sign portal.
- Select Manage from the options near the top of the page.
- Check the box next to the In progress agreement you want to cancel.
- Select Cancel under Actions on the right side of the page.
- Review the confirmation message, then confirm the cancellation.

Important: Canceling the agreement prevents the signer from continuing with that Adobe agreement. If the documents still need to be completed, create and send a new agreement with the correct information.

- Confirm you're canceling the correct agreement before proceeding.
- Review signer and document details before creating a replacement agreement.
- Notify the signer if they already received an invitation for the canceled agreement.
- Cancel before the signer enters or completes the notarization workflow.
Troubleshooting
- If you don't see the Cancel action, confirm the agreement is still in In progress status.
- If the agreement has already been completed or canceled, it cannot be canceled again.
- If the signer still needs to complete the documents, create a new Adobe agreement and resend it.
- If you're unsure whether the signer completed notarization, check the agreement status in Adobe and the related transaction status in Proof.
