The short answer: The Proof Digital Credentials native SDK lets your developers add a one-tap Confirm my identity button to your iOS or Android app, so your users can verify their identity with Proof without leaving your app.
What You'll Need
A native mobile app
An iOS app (iOS 17.5 or later) or an Android app.
A developer on your team
Someone who can add the SDK to your app and connect it to your server.
A server you control
Your server checks the result of each verification. The SDK doesn't store credentials on the device.
How It Works
Add the SDK to your app
Your developer installs the SDK from a standard package registry.
Place the button
They drop the Confirm my identity button into your app wherever you need to verify someone.
Your user verifies
When your user taps the button, the Proof verification flow opens inside your app. They're asked to allow camera access if the flow needs it.
Your app gets the result
Your app receives one outcome: completed, cancelled, or failed with a reason. Your server then checks the result.
What's Included
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Confirm my identity button | A ready-made button for Android and iOS. It comes in small and large sizes and four themes. |
| Two ways to get results | Return the result to your app for the quickest setup, or collect it on your server for the most secure option. |
| Example apps | Sample iOS and Android apps so your team can test the integration before going live. |
If a Verification Doesn't Finish
Camera access was denied +
That verification attempt ends. Your user needs to turn on camera access for your app in their device Settings, then start a new verification. Your app is responsible for showing this prompt.
Your user closed the verification +
Your app receives a cancelled result. Your user can start a new verification whenever they're ready.
The verification failed +
Your app receives a failed result with a reason and a short error code. Common reasons include a network problem or a configuration issue. Check the connection and try again. If it keeps happening, submit a support request and include the error code.
