The short answer: Your mobile browser needs permission to access your camera and microphone at two levels — your phone's system settings and the browser itself. Most issues clear up by checking both.
1. Update Your System Permissions
Your phone's system settings control whether any app — including your browser — can access the camera and microphone. Select your device below.
iPhone (iOS) +
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap Apps.
- Use the search bar or scroll to find the browser you're using.
- Tap the browser name to open its settings.
- Confirm the switches next to Microphone and Camera are turned on.
- Return to your browser, reload the Proof page, and try again.
If you're using Chrome on iPhone and this doesn't resolve it, also try the Chrome browser settings in Step 2 below.
Android +
- Open the Settings app on your phone.
- Tap Apps. If you don't see your browser listed, tap See all apps.
- Tap your browser name.
- Tap Permissions.
- Tap Camera (then repeat for Microphone).
- Select Allow only while using the app.
2. Adjust Your Browser Permissions
Even if your system settings are correct, your browser may be blocking camera access for the Proof site specifically. Select your browser below.
Chrome (Android) +
- With the Proof site open, tap the More menu (three vertical dots).
- Select Settings.
- Tap Site Settings.
- Tap Camera (then repeat for Microphone).
- Toggle Camera on. If it shows as Blocked, your Android system settings are overriding the browser — go back to Step 1 and update those first.
Safari (iPhone) +
- Tap the aA symbol in the address bar.
- Select Website Settings.
- Set Camera and Microphone to Ask or Allow.
- Tap Done to save.
Microsoft Edge +
When you first visit the Proof site, Edge will ask for camera and microphone access — tap Allow. If you dismissed that prompt or access is still blocked, follow these steps:
- Tap the More menu (three horizontal dots) at the bottom of the screen.
- Select Settings.
- Tap Privacy and security, then Site permissions.
- Tap Camera (then repeat for Microphone).
- If the Proof site appears under Block, tap it and switch it to Allow.
