🚧 We've rebranded to Proof with the Notarize Network, but don't worry: The Notarize Network will continue to offer the same great service!
Here's Everything You Need to Know About Notarize’s Transition to Proof.
Overview
eOriginal provides a Test on Demand (TOD) account to allow testing eNotes before going live. This TOD account connects to Proof Fairfax (sandbox) account. Below are procedures for testing in different environments to ensure the connection between eOriginal and Proof is successful.
Prerequisites
Testing
For the purposes of testing that the Proof-eOriginal integration is working, it should suffice to use the Proof web UI to create test transactions (Test 1). If you’d like to use an Encompass or API integration, please see the instructions for “Test 1 Alternate” below.
Test 1 - API keys are working, and Proof can create eNotes in eOriginal
- Log into your Fairfax account (lender.fairfax.proof.com).
- Click “New Transaction”.Â
- You can either fill in an Online Closing eligible address or test with a Hybrid with eNote transaction. Either way will test if the eNote generates in eOriginal correctly.
- Follow the prompts to fill in other transaction information down to eNote. All data can be “dummy data.” (If you’re also doing test 2, provide your own name/email for the signer info.)
- At the eNote section, click Upload to upload an eNote seed file (which can be filled with dummy data) or fill it out manually.
- The “eNote creator” widget will appear. Verify data and click “Create eNote”
- The widget will close, and the screen will prompt you for the signer’s SSN (can be dummy data).
- Open the eOriginal TOD vault in a new window. Verify that the eNote was created.
Test 1 - Alternate Instructions for using an API or Encompass Integration
- Prerequisites for this test: Your integration uses the API key for the Fairfax account.
- Prepare an online closing or hybrid with eNote file as normal. It can be all “dummy data”. (If you’re also doing test 2, provide your own name/email for the signer info).
- Send the transaction to Proof.
- Open the eOriginal TOD vault in a new window. Verify that the eNote was created.
*For Encompass Lenders*
If you are using the Encompass integration with Proof, please see How to Complete a Hybrid With eNote Closing from Encompass for specific steps regarding generating eNotes in Encompass. These same steps for the eNote are applied in How to Complete an Online Closing from Encompass.
Test 2 (Optional) - Proof can sign/seal/register eNotes in eOriginal
-
Prerequisites for this test:
- eOriginal TOD vault is connected to a MERS “training region”.
- Fairfax account is set to “send to signer” (can also be set to “Send to Title Agency” if a real or fake title company is collaborating on this test).
- For online closings, you must arrange a time with a Proof employee who can act as a “Fairfax Notary” for this test. For Hybrid with eNote closings, a notary is not needed to sign the eNote since KBA is enabled so that you can sign it yourself.
- Complete all other transaction fields and send to the signer.
- As a signer, open the transaction and follow the prompts to review your documents.
- Follow the prompts to start a notary meeting.
- Once in a notary meeting, sign documents and complete the transaction.
- Open the eOriginal TOD vault in a new window. Verify that the eNote is signed and registered.
