The short answer: When preparing a document, you can use grouped fields to link multiple checkboxes together — letting you set minimum and maximum selection requirements and assign the entire group to a specific signer.


How It Works

Grouped fields let you link related checkboxes so signers complete them as a set. Here's what to know before you start:

  • Fields in the same group can be placed across multiple pages.
  • A group can only be assigned to one signer. To assign individual fields to different signers, apply them as separate fields or create a separate group for each signer.
  • Group designations are supported with white-text tagging. Learn more about white-text tags.

Add Grouped Fields

To add grouped fields, navigate to the Prepare Document stage of creating a transaction and follow these steps:

  1. Click the Select tool from the toolbar on the right.
  2. Select the field after you place it.
  3. Click Add to Group to add another checkbox.

  4. Repeat steps 2–3 to add as many checkboxes as needed.

Set Min/Max Requirements

To set a minimum or maximum number of selections for a grouped field, follow these steps:

  1. Select one of the checkboxes in the group.
  2. Use the dropdown menus in the toolbar on the right to set the requirements:
    • Min to be checked: Set to 1 to require a response, or 0 to allow the signer to skip.
    • Max to be checked: Set to the maximum number of items the signer can select.

Assign a Group to a Different Signer

To assign a grouped field to a specific signer, follow these steps:

  1. Select one of the checkboxes in the group.
  2. Use the Assigned to dropdown menu in the toolbar on the right to assign the group to a specific signer.
