Add a Conditional Field Based on Another Field

Audience: Organizations

The short answer: Conditional fields appear only when a linked field is fulfilled. Set them up from the Prepare documents window.

A conditional field is a signer field on a document that only appears when a related requirement is fulfilled. Using conditional fields, you can require one field based on the signer's selection of another field — think of these as if/then logic.

In the example below: if the signer checks the box for Limited Liability Company (on the left), then they must write the tax classification in the secondary field (on the right).

Example of a conditional field: checking Limited Liability Company triggers a secondary tax classification field
