You can edit a transaction after it's been sent if you need to change details.
If you're a lender or title agent and you need to make a change to a transaction that's already been sent, read Recall a real estate transaction instead. You may also want to Cancel a transaction instead, if the signer's email address is incorrect, for example.
Who can do this
Any user in your organization with an owner, admin, team member, and sender role can perform the action below.
Which transactions can be edited
You can only edit transactions that are in the Sent status. If the recipient has begun the transaction and the status has moved to Attempted, you cannot edit it.
The option to edit will not appear in the Transaction actions menu if the transaction cannot be edited.
What to expect
When you edit a transaction, it is moved into Draft status. If the recipient tries to access the transaction while it's being edited, they receive a message indicating that updates are being made to the transaction.
- Recipients of the transaction will not be sent a new transaction link when edits are made. Their existing link will function normally after the edits are finalized.
- If new recipients are added to the transaction, they will be sent a transaction access link.
