Digital Certificates for Notaries
Notaries on the Proof platform are receiving renewed digital certificates issued directly by Proof's own Certificate Authority (CA), replacing certificates that were previously issued by a third-party SSL provider. (NX-6209).
- Audience: All notaries (save for exempt clients)
- Availability: Default change — notaries will be migrated automatically in cohorts; no opt-in required. Notaries will be migrated in batches. Those whose certificates are due for renewal will be prompted to complete a short re-verification step to receive their new Proof-issued certificate.
- Release Stage: Limited Availability (gradual rollout by state, with GA to follow)
- Transaction Types: Applies to future transactions only. Previously executed and completed transactions are not affected.
Fixes
If provided, a file or loan number will automatically embed in Proof emails (subject and body) for Identify and Sign transactions, as it does for Close transactions (BIZ-9237). This ensures consistent communication for title customers who add a file number to their transactions.
