Required Hardware and Software to Complete Transactions on Proof

Audience: Everyone

The short answer: To complete a transaction on Proof, you need a stable internet connection and a compatible device with a camera and microphone. Most modern computers, smartphones, and tablets will work fine.

⚠️
Important for Real Estate: Real estate transactions and closings can be completed on a mobile device via a web browser, but they are not supported on the Notarize mobile app.

1. Hardware and Software

Using hardware or software below these specifications may cause technical issues during your session.

  • Device: A computer, smartphone, or tablet running a modern operating system — no more than three versions older than the current release.
  • Camera and Audio: An autofocus camera supporting the h264 codec, and functional speakers and microphone (or headphones).
  • PDF Viewer: Adobe Acrobat Reader is recommended for viewing documents.

2. How to Access Proof

You can join your session through a web browser or our mobile app:

  • Web Browser (recommended): We support the current releases of Chrome, Firefox, and Edge (within the last 10 versions) and Safari (within the last 3 versions).
  • Mobile App: You can use the Notarize app for iOS or Android, except for real estate closings.

3. Internet Connection

A reliable broadband connection is required to maintain a live, high-quality audio-video stream. For the best experience, we recommend a hardwired connection or a strong Wi-Fi signal.
