A U.S. social security number may be required to verify identity, depending on your document and/or the requirements of the company or individual that initiated your transaction. Review Knowledge-based Authentication (KBA) for more information.
Acceptable Primary Identification
- Driver's license
- Passport
- Passport card
- Permanent resident card
- State ID card
Acceptable Secondary Identification
The secondary ID must be different from the primary ID. i.e., if you used your driver's license as your primary ID, it cannot be used for your secondary ID.

- Utility bill
- Credit or debit card statement
- Bank account statement
ℹ️ If you use a utility bill or account statement, the bill must be dated within 6 months of the meeting.
Not Accepted on the Proof Platform
Military IDs & Inmate/Prisoner IDs
Due to constraints from our Credential Analysis vendor, Proof cannot accept Inmate/Prisoner IDs or Military IDs (including dependent Military IDs).
