Verify Your Identity Without a Social Security Number

The short answer: If you don't have an SSN or ITIN, check the box on the verification screen and complete the alternative ID steps. You'll need a current or previous U.S. address to use this option.

Eligible signers can verify their identity without a Social Security number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) by providing a current or previous U.S. address, ID photos, and selfie photos instead. This option appears when you're uploading your own document, sent a transaction by an organization with this verification enabled, or signing while co-located with other signers.

After clicking the link in your invitation email or uploading your own document, here's what to expect:


Verify Your Identity Without SSN or ITIN

  1. Check the box next to "I don't have an SSN or ITIN."

  2. Provide a current or previous U.S. address.
  3. Capture photos of your identification.
  4. Capture selfie photos for identity verification.
  5. Connect with a notary to complete the meeting.
