A field is fillable for signers, and fields can be added to documents to guide signers and ensure the document is filled out correctly. Adding fields to a document (also called tagging) is a valuable practice that saves time and reduces errors by highlighting what needs to be filled out and signed on the document.

Any user in your organization with an owner, admin, team member, and sender role can perform the action below.
Depending on your organization's account settings, signers may be able to fill out certain fields before they meet with the notary to make the notary meeting more efficient.

Adding signer fields for yourself
Self-service customers who prepare their own document after uploading can also add their own fields, but the options are more limited. For example, you cannot add signature fields until you're in a meeting with the notary.
