The short answer: You may be able to fill out and even sign documents before meeting with a notary, depending on what the sender allows. This is called Sign Ahead.
How it works
Some organizations allow signers to fulfill fields before meeting with a notary. You may be able to fill in text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons, and dates. You may also be able to sign documents that do not require notarization.
You cannot fill out any fields or signatures on documents that require notarization.
What you'll see
When you access the transaction, the documents open and you'll see how many remaining requirements need to be fulfilled before the meeting in the upper right corner of the document preview.
Step 1 — Select Next document
After you fulfill all available requirements, you'll see "All fields complete" in the upper right corner. Select Next document to review the remaining documents in the package.
Step 2 — Select Continue
Once all available fields across all documents are completed, select Continue in the upper right corner to verify your identity and join the meeting with your notary.
