To complete the notarization process online, you need to to meet a few requirements have have some items ready.
Requirements
- Signers must be at least 18 years old.
- Signers should have about six (6) months of credit history to generate identification questions.
- The document being notarized must be intended for use in the U.S.
Items you need
To verify your identity, have the following items and information ready:
- A U.S. Social Security number or individual tax identification number (more info below)
- A U.S. address
- Government-issued photo ID from this list
For those who need to verify their identity and/or notarize documents intended for use within the U.S., you may be required to complete Knowledge-based Authentication. To help you complete KBA, the Proof platform can accept either a U.S. Social Security number or an individual tax identification number.
The identifier used must be tied to sufficient records to generate identity verification questions, such as credit history, vehicle registration, etc.
You may also need additional supporting items depending on what is required by the document. Please review your document thoroughly to ensure you have everything you need. For example, some documents require secondary identification.
To ensure the Proof platform operates as expected, you'll need:

- A mobile device with one of the options listed below

- Do not use the mobile app for real estate closings or any transaction initiated by a business; only use a browser listed above.
