The short answer: You can connect your Proof Digital ID to an AI assistant like Claude. When a website or service asks your assistant to prove who you are, you approve the check and Proof handles it.
How It Works
Connect Proof once
Add Proof to your assistant and sign in. See Connect Proof to Your AI Assistant.
Approve when asked
If a site needs proof of identity, your assistant shows who is asking and what they want. You choose to approve or cancel. See Verify Your Identity With Proof in an AI Assistant.
Your assistant keeps going
After you approve, your assistant goes back to the site and finishes the task.
What You Share
Only what you approve
Each request lists exactly what will be shared, such as your full name or whether you're over 18.
No copy of your ID
Your assistant doesn't get a copy of your ID. Every identity check comes back to you to approve.
You see who's asking
Proof shows who is making each request before you approve it.
Who Can Use It
| Who it's for | Anyone with a Proof Digital ID. |
| Supported assistants | AI assistants that support MCP, including Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. |
| Setup | You set it up yourself in your assistant. No admin or Proof Support request is needed. |
Your Controls
- You approve or cancel every request. Nothing is shared until you approve.
- Each time you share your ID, it's recorded on the History tab of your Proof dashboard. Each check appears as a Verifiable Credential Presentation with the name of who asked.
- You can disconnect Proof from your assistant at any time.
Summary Checklist
- I know Proof only shares what I approve.
- I know my assistant doesn't get a copy of my ID.
- I know how to connect Proof to my assistant.
