White-text tags are placeholders with text in white that is invisible to the human eye against a white page but readable by a platform.
White-text tags allow organizations to automatically apply tags to documents with signer or notary requirements when sending through Proof. These tags/fields include signature tags, initials tags, text fields, and date fields.
When a document is uploaded to the Proof platform via API or UI, the platform locates white text placeholders. It automatically adds the prescribed fields for signers and/or a notary to annotate the document.
White-text tags allow a seamless customer signing process for business organizations. White Text Tagging avoids manually applying tags to documents, which can be tedious and time-consuming.
If you'd like to use text tagging in a font color other than white, review the White Text Tags dev docs for more information.
Who can use this
Any user in your lender or title organization who can send transactions can use white text tagging.
Users in business organizations can use this but may prefer to create business document templates instead
White text tagging implementation
See our Developer Documentation for white text tagging and an example document with a complete list of white text syntax outlined.
Proof will set your account to have either [STANDARD] or [STANDARD - HIDDEN]. These are set on the account level but can also be switched for individual documents uploaded to Proof.
Adeptive Software is a resource for Title Agents implementing these white text tags.
- [STANDARD]: Proof sets this on the account level if the organization uses white text in their white text tag syntax.
- [STANDARD - HIDDEN]: Proof sets this on the account level if the organization uses non-white text (black, blue, red, etc.) in their white-text tag syntax.
This will expedite the process of Proof Closing Ops being able to get transactions sent to signers. If Title Agents want to send transactions directly to signers and not utilize Proof Closing Ops, they can also white-text tag their documents before sending them to Proof. See 'Sending Directly to Signers' in Place an Order from ResWare to Proof for more information.
