On-demand notary (ODN)

An on-demand notary (ODN) on the Proof platform is a commissioned notary who is part of the Notarize Network. This individual notarizes documents on demand when a signer initiates a meeting.

Currently, the Proof platform is live for on-demand notaries (ODNs) in the following states:

  • Florida
  • Nevada
  • Pennsylvania
  • Texas
  • Virginia

On-demand notaries are fully reviewed by our Notary Onboarding team before being provisioned to work on the Proof platform, starting with an eligibility check in accordance with notarial state laws. These notaries undergo extensive platform training and pass a notarial knowledge and platform assessment before becoming active on the Proof platform.

A notary sourcing transactions (NST) is a notary using the Proof platform to conduct and grow their own business. An NST is considered a Network Notary, even if they don't accept calls from the on-demand queue.

This individual notarizes documents for their own clients. They can send transactions through Proof or use a link for their customers to upload their own documents for notarization. Read Notary sourced transactions overview for more details.
