Prevent Changes to Signer's Name on All Transactions

The short answer: Lock the recipient's name on all outgoing transactions to ensure only the intended recipient can complete them. This is an account-level setting accessible to owners and admins.


How it works

If Lock recipient name is set to:

Log in to your Proof account to complete the steps below.

  1. Select Settings from the navigation panel on the left.
    • If you don't see the panel, select the arrow to expand it.
  2. Select Transaction Settings from the Settings page menu on the left.
  3. Select the radio button next to the desired option under Lock recipient name in the Signer permissions box.
  4. Select Save changes.

Summary Checklist

  • Settings → Transaction Settings → Signer permissions → select Yes under Lock recipient name → Save changes.
  • When locked, signers cannot change their name for KBA or signature creation — only the intended recipient can complete the transaction.
