Audience: Organizations
The short answer: Lock the recipient's name on all outgoing transactions to ensure only the intended recipient can complete them. This is an account-level setting accessible to owners and admins.
How it works
If Lock recipient name is set to:
- Yes — Signers cannot change their name for knowledge-based authentication or creating a signature.
- No — Signers can change their name.
Lock recipient name
Log in to your Proof account to complete the steps below.
- Select Settings from the navigation panel on the left.
- If you don't see the panel, select the arrow to expand it.
- Select Transaction Settings from the Settings page menu on the left.
- Select the radio button next to the desired option under Lock recipient name in the Signer permissions box.
- Select Save changes.
Summary Checklist
- Settings → Transaction Settings → Signer permissions → select Yes under Lock recipient name → Save changes.
- When locked, signers cannot change their name for KBA or signature creation — only the intended recipient can complete the transaction.
