Audience: Signers

The short answer: During a real estate notary meeting on Proof, signers can call their closing team directly from the meeting window if contact information was shared by the sender.

How It Works

When a sender creates a real estate transaction, they can add members of their closing team and choose to share that contact information with the signer. If shared, the contacts are visible in your email invitation and in the document preview before the meeting begins.

During the meeting, you can call multiple contacts and have more than one on the call at the same time. Calls must be placed from a web browser on a computer — the Notarize app does not support this feature.

Notaries cannot see closing contact information or initiate calls unless you connect with a contact first.

A Note on Ending Calls

If a call doesn't connect — for example, if the contact doesn't answer or the call goes to voicemail — you won't be able to manually hang up. The system will automatically end the call once the voicemail times out.

Call a Closing Contact

Once your notary meeting has begun, closing contact information appears in the bottom left of the meeting window, under the video feeds.

  1. Click Connect to view your closing contacts. closing contacts call during meeting
  2. Click the Call button next to the person you'd like to reach. call button closing contact meeting

The button changes to Connecting… while the call rings.

When the contact connects, the button changes to End call. Click it when you're ready to disconnect.
