The short answer: Meeting Attempts gives you visibility into a signer's previous tries at the same transaction. If a signer has had an earlier attempt that was terminated or dropped, you'll see a warning icon in your session. Select it to see what happened, and go into the meeting with all prior information.

What Is Meeting Attempts?
Meeting Attempts gives you deeper insight into a signer's previous behavior on a transaction. If a signer has tried the same transaction before and that attempt was dropped or terminated, you'll see a warning icon right in your session. This icon won't appear if it's the signer's first meeting for that transaction.
Click the icon to open a modal showing what happened in the signer's earlier attempts, broken into two categories:
- Terminations: Show why a session ended, based on the reason the previous notary chose on the termination modal.
- Incomplete meetings: Mean the session was closed out by the signer or notary, or the connection dropped. No reason gets recorded for these.
Using Meeting Attempts to Spot Fraud
Fraudsters sometimes attempt the same transaction again and again, trying to find a notary who'll complete it without catching the problem. As you review a signer's prior attempts, a few details are worth a closer look:
- A termination reason of ID mismatch. This is a possible sign of fraud — the signer could be passing off someone else's ID as their own. Treat it as your cue to take a closer look at both the ID and the person on your video feed.
- A deepfake indicator. When a fraud icon appears next to a termination reason, it means a deepfake assessment was run and the previous notary answered yes — they believed the signer was using a deepfake. This icon only appears when a notary answers yes to that assessment.
- A standalone termination reason of potential fraud. This means the notary felt the transaction was fraudulent, but no deepfake was flagged.
Together, details like these tell a clear story: stay alert as you move through the transaction.
Meeting Attempts for Multi-Signer Sessions
For multi-signer sessions, termination reasons can populate in two ways:
- If the signers were previously in a multi-signer session together that got terminated, that same termination reason shows up for each signer.
- If each signer first had their own separate meeting as split-signers, and later joined a single session together, their termination reasons are recorded individually.
Summary Checklist
- A warning icon appears in your session if the signer has had a dropped or terminated attempt at this transaction before.
- Click the icon to see prior attempts, grouped into terminations and incomplete meetings.
- A fraud icon next to a potential fraud termination means a notary ran a deepfake assessment and answered yes.
- Use prior attempts, especially an ID mismatch, as a cue to look more closely at the ID and the signer on camera.
- For multi-signer sessions, a shared prior session shows the same termination reason for each signer; separate prior sessions show individual reasons.
