Audience: Recipients

The short answer: You can edit your Basic Information from the Identity tab. To revoke your Digital ID, or to update it after your ID expires or your details change, delete it and create a new one.

1. Edit Your Basic Information

  1. Log in to app.proof.com and select Identity from the left navigation panel.
  2. In the Basic Information section, select Edit.
  3. Update your details.

Some changes may require re-verification. If the ID your Digital ID was created from has expired or the underlying details have changed, delete your Digital ID and create a new one instead.

2. Delete Your Digital ID

Delete and re-create your Digital ID to revoke it, or when the ID it was created from has expired or the underlying details have changed.

  1. Log in to app.proof.com and select Identity from the left navigation panel.
  2. In the Digital ID section, select Delete my digital ID.
  3. In the pop-up, select Delete my digital ID again to confirm.
⚠️
Deleting your Digital ID is permanent. You will need to complete identity verification again to get a new one.
⚠️
If you need to meet with a Florida notary, delete your Digital ID before you start your transaction. Our system can't connect you with a Florida notary while you have an active Digital ID.

3. Create Your New Digital ID

  1. Log in to app.proof.com and open your account menu.
  2. Select Create my Digital ID, then select Get started.
  3. Verify your phone number using the 6-digit code sent to you.
  4. Capture your current primary government-issued ID, then take a selfie. See Acceptable Forms of ID for Online Notarization for accepted IDs.
  5. Confirm the extracted ID information and select Continue.
  6. Select Save my Digital ID.

For other ways to create a Digital ID, see Proof Digital ID. If you don't see Delete my Digital ID on your Identity tab, you may not have a Digital ID yet. To learn about the Identity tab, see Your Identity Tab on the Proof Consumer Dashboard.
