The short answer: The Identity tab in your Proof account is where you manage your personal verification data. What you see depends on whether you have completed identity verification and hold a Digital ID.
To access your Identity tab, log in to your Proof account and select Identity from the left navigation panel.
If you have a Digital ID
If you have completed identity verification, your Identity tab will show three green verification badges at the top:
- Credentials verified — you have submitted a valid government-issued ID.
- Biometric verified — a face match or liveness check has been completed.
- Personal information verified — secondary data points such as your address and SSN have been validated.
Your page will include the following sections:
Basic Information
Shows the core identity attributes on file, including your name, phone number, date of birth, credential type, and address. Select Edit to update any of these fields.
Digital ID
Displays a visual card of your IAL2 Certified Digital ID, including your name, the date it was issued, and its expiration date. If you need to revoke your Digital ID, select Delete my digital ID.
Identity Preferences
A section at the bottom of the page where you can personalize your profile, including adding your preferred pronouns. Select Edit to make changes.
If you do not have a Digital ID
If you have not yet completed identity verification, your Identity tab will look different:
- No verification badges — the green Credentials verified, Biometric verified, and Personal information verified badges will not appear.
- Limited Basic Information — only self-reported data is shown, such as your name and address. Phone number may be blank. Select Edit to update these fields.
- No Digital ID card — the IAL2 Certified Digital ID section will not appear. There are no issued or expiration dates displayed.
- Identity Preferences — the pronouns section is still available for you to personalize. Select Edit to update.
If you would like to obtain a Digital ID, you'll need to complete identity verification as part of a notarization or identity transaction.
