Signing Options for Multiple Signers

Whether your signers are in the same room or across the country, Proof supports three methods for multiple-signer transactions:

Method Description
Co-located Signers are in the same room and join the same notary meeting together on a single device.
Concurrent Signers are in different locations and simultaneously join the same notary meeting from their own separate devices.
Split signing Signers are in different locations and meet with a notary at separate times, resulting in individual meetings and individual fees per session.

Email Address Requirements

Email requirements depend on how your signers plan to meet:

Scenario Email Requirement
Co-located signers Shared email addresses are permitted β€” signers are in the same room using the same device.
Concurrent or split signers Unique email addresses are required β€” every signer must have their own email address to access the platform securely.

Used the wrong email address? Here's what to do based on the transaction status:

Transaction Status Required Action
Sent or Viewed Recall (real estate) or Edit (business) the transaction to update the email addresses.
Attempted If signers have already started identity verification, you must cancel and clone the transaction. Update recipients with unique email addresses before resending.
